Abstract
Japan's main concern in Taiwan during the Japanese occupation era has been shifting to Taiwan as a production base. At the beginning of the colonial management, he was distracting to the rebellion of the rebellion repeated on the main island of Taiwan.
As a result, cultivation of rice and sweet potatoes, which is advantageous in terms of management in the south, became possible. Here, the intention and thought of the farmers, the sugar company ・ Governor general, and the inland government passed each other, and spatial sympathy occurred due to sweet potato and rice called "rice sugar confrontation".
