A Genealogy of Gentrification Studies in London

Abstract

In this research, I would like to focus on the scale of the city as an analysis unit that has been less paid attention to so far. Based on the viewpoint, I will take up the academic literature on gentrification and similar reports and organize these by age, theme and study area, targeting on London where the word gentrification was coined and many types of research have been accumulated sufficiently. And, through the contemplation of the viewpoints, definitions and results of these previous researches, I will draw out the genealogy of gentrification studies in London.
