Positioning of JIMOTOGAKU/CHIIKIGAKU(Local/Regional Studies)

:From Outcomes of TOSHIMINZOKUSEIKATSUSHI(Ethnography of Urban Folk Life) and NARA-GAKU(New Academic Studies on NARA)

Abstract

I want to position our works, TOSHIMINZOKUSEIKATSUSHI(Ethnography of Urban Folk Life) and NARA-GAKU(New Academic Studies on Nara), on trends of JOMOTOGAKU/CHIIKIGAKU(Local/Regional Studies) in Japan.

From 1980's, 2 trend s on Local/Rejional Studies started in some areas. Formal sectors leads CHIIKIGAKU. On the other hand, JOMOTOGAKU was produced by informal sectors as social movements, especially by 2 leaders, Yuki,Tomio and Yoshimoto,Tethuro.

So, We conected our 2 academic attempts to their works.

Our academic outcomes are, for example, TOSHIMINZOKUSEIKATSUSHI(3volumes), DAIGAKUTEKI NARA-GAIDO, e.t.c.. The features of our attempts are documents on ordinary life-world, discoveries of new local charms, and reconfirmation of dynamic regions.
