Abstract

Climate change in the historical times is important as a basis for environmental change both locally and globally. It has been restored from natural and artificial alternative materials. However, the restoration result varies depending on the time and region. It may also differ from the reproduction in the general circulation model. Due to the uncertainty of climate understanding in historical times, it is difficult to analyze its relationship with cultural and social changes. It also hinders future climate prediction and impact assessment. Uncertainty is limited by the quality and quantity of alternative materials. Also, while alternative materials mainly reflect temperature and precipitation, materials that reflect wind are limited and may not directly indicate circulation. We use historical materials and limited observation records concerning the climate around Japan. Analyzes climate change with emphasis on cold and dry weather, especially on the relationship with circulation. Furthermore, we will try to reexamine the climate change of historical times.
