Abstract

The presentation will report kiwi farming agroforestry project by Institute of Himalayan Conservation (IHC) at the local village (Baranja) in Dhaulagiri District, West Nepal. The project was started in November 2017 by establishing the test plantation with 62 siblings of kiwi tree. There are also 10 cooperative farmers who newly started kiwi plantation from April 2019. This presentation shows the situation that not only transplantation activities but more economically-oriented agroforestry project is needed due to a lack of income generation and job opportunity in rural part of Nepal today.
