Abstract

In this study, I used the cadastral map to restore the route of Silla's trunk road, from the micro-scale perspective in the western part of the former Gyeongju-gun, which we estimate to be part of Yeomji-tong among the Silla's Five Streets. I want to derive a hypothesis that can be used in other sections.

As a result, the main roads of Silla, which was set up in the plains, basins, and microaltitudes, including around Gyeongju, was constructed with straight roads, as was the case in ancient Japan, and with the surrounding square-shaped lands. It raises the possibility that was planned as one. In the future, we will investigate other sections with similar topographical conditions and refine the hypothesis.
