Nearest-neighbor Spatial-association Measure (NSM), a method for analyzing the spatial relationship between two different types of point distributions, has applied to investigate the contingency of two different point distribution tendencies such as chain stores, firms and convenient stores. In this presentation, the authors intend to apply NSM to investigate the uniqueness of haunted spots in terms of their spatial distribution patterns in contradistinction from the patterns of public facilities such as from municipal offices/community halls to crematoriums/hospitals. Results indicated the discrete nature of haunted spots in terms of their spatial distribution patterns in comparison to many types of public facilities.
