Abstract

Subsidence phenomena derived from the archaeological layers of ancient Alexandria threatens its urban cultural heritage. Integrated collaboration created to investigate that disaster. Three areas have been examined using unique Russian system LOZA-V GPR technique, which are Khartum Square, Sultan Husain and Nabi Danial Streets.

The investigated sites were identified based on cartographic maps and previous archaeological information. The system was attached to 200 MHz bi-static antenna operated is point mode. The data is significant and indicates to possibility of usable archaeological remains. Some other features were noticed which require additional geophysical techniques. Therefore, integrated project is required.
