Reconstruction of Northern Japan's Climate from late Edo Period Weather Records

Abstract

From around the end of the 18th century, weather records in areas north of Hokkaido have been preserved. A method for directly analyzing this weather is needed. First, we clarify the current seasonal changes in the weather in the northward Japan. Next, we will compare the old meteorological data that we have obtained with the current weather in the area. Based on that, we will attempt to reconstruct the climate of that time.
