Abstract

We detected MIS 9 terrace surface in northwest end of the Tama Hills, inland area of the Kanto Plain. Its age was determined with tephras whic covers terrace deposits, and their facies suggests that the terrace was formed as marine terrace or fluvial terrace close to river mouth. These findings provide data of paleo-geography (paleo-shoreline) and uplifting rate in this area.
