Abstract

In Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal, tourism has rapidly developed as a center for mountaineering and trekking, which has influenced the livestock farming that Sherpas have been doing for many years. (Stevens 1993). In this study, we conducted a social survey to clarify current grazing patterns to examine the transformation of livestock farming centered on Sherpas due to external pressure from tourism development.
