The study explores the building evacuation policy in Taiwan under Japanese rule. Enacted from December 1943 to August 1945, this policy aimed at preventing air raid damage and securing evacuation sites. The implementation in Taiwan, initially hesitant due to differences in architectural styles and climatic conditions compared to Japan, but evolved in August 1944, ultimately leading to designations in six cities. A significant expansion in Taipei in April 1945 indicated an increased awareness of air raid damage to Taiwan, also suggesting a potential connection to urban planning from 1932.
