Impact of different type of ENSO on summer climate in the middle and lower basin of Yangtze River

Abstract

Since the 1980s, SST anomalies that cause ENSO have frequently appeared not only over the eastern tropical Pacific (EP ENSO) but also over the central tropical Pacific near the date line (CP ENSO).In this study, the effects and mechanisms of EP ENSO and CP ENSO on precipitation and temperature in the middle and lower basin of the Yangtze River, China, during the summer months of 1960-2010 are investigated.
