This study investigates the relationship between disaster preparedness and neighborhood ties among Chinese immigrants in Japan. Using data from an online social survey of foreign residents, responses from 467 Chinese participants were analyzed. The findings reveal that ties with Japanese neighbors were significantly and positively associated with overall disaster preparedness, while ties with co-national neighbors showed no significant effect. Furthermore, the degree of neighborhood interaction, rather than the scale of the neighborhood network, played a more critical role in enhancing disaster preparedness among Chinese immigrants in Japan.
