'Horitsu Keizai Rondai Shuran' (Index of Law and Economic Articles) and 'Hosei Keizai Shakai Ronbun Soran' (Index of Law, Political, Economic, and Sociological Articles): A Comparative Study on lndexes of Social Science Articles in the Meiji-era.

Abstract

'Horitsu Keizai Rondai Shuran' published in 1908-10 is appraised as a pioneer index of social science articles in the Meiji era. But, as a result of our examination, we detected the fact that a good few of the titles, especially economic and industrial titles, of the journal recorded in 'Shuran', are unreliable because of having a great lack of items listed there.
