On the publication of Jingo-ki, mathematilac book

Abstract

Jingo-ki is a mathematical book written by YOSHIDA, Mitsuyoshi and published in 1627. Through researches by various authorities, it is known that there are 5-600 editions. In this articles, the writer made a comparison among editions owned or examined by him.
Chronologically the dates of publications of the book are devided into two periods, namely l620’s-1680’s and 1690’s-1890. In each period, the writer selected distinguished editions and analysed them by both contents and formats.
In the conclusion, the development of varied editions is shown according to the changes of the types of conteets.
