Abstract

The international competitiveness of the Japanese chemical industry, particularly within the field of functional chemicals, is attracting attention. This paper examines the MBS resin business of Kaneka, a pioneer in functional chemicals, and provides theoretical and empirical evidence on the source of Kaneka’s competitive strength from the perspective of integrated organizational capability in R&D and production.
