Crystal Structure of Imide-Amide between Kemp’s Acid and L-Prolinol

Abstract

The title compound was synthesized from the reaction of Kemp’s imide acid with L-prolinol. It crystallized in tetragonal space group P4₁2₁2 with cell parameters a = 11.893(2)Å, c = 23.730(3)Å and Z = 8. The structure exhibits an intramolecular hydrogen bond of the type C=O…HO between one imide carbonyl group and a hydroxyl group in the L-prolinol moiety, and also an intermolecular hydrogen bond of the type NH…O.
