Abstract
The complex cis-[PdCl2{Te(CH2CH2NMe2)2}], synthesized by the reaction of Na2PdCl4 with Te(CH2CH2NMe2)2 in methanol, contains an N,Te-chelated PdII center with a distorted square-planar coordination geometry. The Pd-Cl bond lengths are rather different at 2.2965(14)Å (Cl trans to N) and 2.3888(12)Å (Cl trans to Te); the Pd-Te bond is relatively short at 2.5078(6)Å. One 2-dimethylaminoethyl substituent at tellurium remains uncoordinated.
