Abstract
The crystal structure of (R)-2-phenoxypropionic acid complex of (R)-pipecolic acid has been determined. In the crystal packing, the hydrophobic and hydrophilic layers are well separated along the a-axis. The shallow pocket on the hydrophobic layer accommodates the hydrophobic side of pipecolic acid. The carboxy group of pipecolic acid is intermolecular hydrogen-bonding to the carboxy groups of phenoxypropionic acid.
