Abstract

Fragments of elastin sequences of mammalian elastic protein elastin, like Ala-Pro, was synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography. The sequence (C₂₀H₂₈N₂O₅) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group P2₁2₁2₁ with the parameters a = 9.4240(9)Å, b = 11.1850(5)Å, c = 20.0800(19)Å, V = 2116.6(3)Å³, Z = 4. The final residual factor is 0.0612.
