The crystal structure of a five-coordinate copper(II) complex of N-anthracen-9-ylmethyl-N,N′,N′-tris-pyridin-2-ylmethyl-ethane-1,2-diamine (AT5N) has been determined by X-ray diffraction. In this complex, the copper atom has a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. An intermolecular aromatic-aromatic face-to-face interaction was also observed in the crystals.
