Abstract

The crystal structure of 5-(R)-menthyloxy-butyrolacto[3,4-b]-2(S)-6(R)-1-N-isopropylaziridine was determined by the X-ray diffraction method. This compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P212121. The unit cell dimensions are a = 6.4800(7), b = 8.4926(9), c = 33.030(3)Å, V = 1817.7(3)Å3 and Z = 4. The structure was refined to a final R value of 0.0444 for 2992 reflections (I > 2σ(I)). The results of X-ray single crystal analysis indicate that there are six chiral centers and one intermolecular C(2)-H(2)…N(1) hydrogen bond in the crystal of the title compound.
