Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 1,3-Dibenzoyloxy Benzene

Abstract

The title compound was synthesized and the structure was investigated by X-ray methods. The compound crystallizes in monoclinic crystal class in the space group P2₁/c with cell parameters a = 5.893(6)Å, b = 31.781(3)Å, c = 8.341(8)Å, β = 94.256(5)°, Z = 4. The structure exhibits intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type C-H…O.
