2-[1-4(Methoxy-phenylimino)ethyl]phenol (1) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 26.119(7), b = 5.5920(15), c = 8.774(2)Å, β = 99.304(5)°, V = 1264.6(6)Å3, and Z = 4. A strong intramolecular hydrogen bond, O(1)-H(1)…N(1), is responsible for the formation of a planar six-membered C3HNO ring.
