Abstract

The proton-transfer compound (pyrimH)+{H(Hpydc)2}- was synthesized from the reaction of 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid, pydcH2, and N,N′-diethyl-2-amino-6-methyl-4-pyrimidinol, pyrim. The crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction. This compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1, with two formula units in the unit cell. The unit-cell parameters are: a = 8.139(4)Å, b = 8.601(4)Å, c = 19.080(11)Å, with α = 84.54(4)°, β = 79.88(4)° and γ = 62.23(3)°. The final R value is 0.0369 for 3899 measured reflections.
