Abstract
The crystal structure of (bdaH2)(pydcH)2\\middot;2H2O (bda = benzene-1,3-diamine, pydcH2 = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) was determined by an X-ray diffraction method. This compound crystallized in the triclinic system, space group P1, with two formula units in the unit cell. The unit cell parameters are: a = 8.3390(8)Å, b = 11.1377(11)Å, c = 13.2476(13)Å, with α = 106.067(5)°, β = 94.345(5)° and γ = 109.625(5)°. The final R value is 0.0540 for 2838 measured reflections. This compound shows intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type O-H…O, N-H…O, and N-H…N as well as ion-pairing in the crystal packing.
