Abstract
The crystal structure of (pycH)2(btcH2)\\middot;2H2O (pyc = pyridine-4-carbamide, btcH4 = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetracarboxylic acid) was determined by the X-ray diffraction method. This compound crystallized in the monoclinic system, space group C2/m, with two formula units in the unit cell. The unit cell parameters were: a = 12.451(2)Å, b = 6.1449(8)Å, c = 15.657(3)Å, with β = 108.263(13)°. The final R value was 0.0296 for 1114 measured reflections. This compound shows intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the type O-H…O, and N-H…O, as well as ion-pairing in the crystal packing.
