Synthesis and Crystal Structure of [5-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-4-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-3-furanyl](3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)methanone

Abstract

In the title compound, C₂₃H₂₈O₈, the molecule has an extended conformation with both of the benzene rings being in an equatorial position with respect to the furanose ring. The furanose ring adopts an envelope conformation. In the crystal lattice, the molecules are edge fused via O-H…O and C-H…O intermolecular interactions, forming continuous chains of R³₃(27) and R³₃(33)-type rings. In addition, the structure is further stabilized by C-H…π interactions.
