Abstract
N-[(E)-3,3-diphenylprop-2-enylidene]-1-(4-aminophenyl)ethanone, (Phca-acan), was obtained from a condensation reaction of β-phenylcinnamaldehyde and p-acetylaniline and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In this compound, the central C=N bond length is 1.275(2)Å, which conforms to the value for a double bond. The molecule is slightly non-planar with the substituents adopting an E configuration with respect to the imine C=N bond.
