In this study, we examined The relationship between the effect of acupuncture stimulation on electromyogram F wave (Amplitude ratio of F/M) of the first dorsal interosseous muscle and the effect of acupuncture stimulation on regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) of the first dorsal interosseous muscle. Acupuncture stimulation of Hegu (LI4；radial to the midpoint of the second metacarpal bone). An acupuncture needle (0.18 mm in diameter) was inserted up to a depth of 10 mm at the LI4. Acupuncture stimulation to the LI4 was significantly increased Amplitude ratio of F/M , and significantly increased rSO2. About 30 seconds after acupuncture stimulation a positive correlation was observed between the change in F / M amplitude ratio induced by acupuncture stimulation and the change in rSO2 induced by acupuncture stimulation. This was thought to be caused by acupuncture stimulation via the high central nervous system.
