Abstract

FR191512, a novel polyphenolic compound, inhibited the infectivity of influenza A virus in Madin-Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells in vitro. Furthermore, FR191512 showed good in vivo anti-influenza activity in a mouse model of iritranasal infection with influenza A virus. The cytotoxic activity of FR191512 against MDCK cells was very weak.
