Abstract
The new tetracycline derivative, prolinomethyltetracycline, was prepared and antibacterial spectrum. acute toxicity, blood levels after injection were studied.The chemical structure of prolinomethyltetracycline was suggested by physicochemical properties, such as I.R.spectrum, NMR and TLC.
It is assumed that prolinomethyl group is combined with amide group of tetracycline.
This compound is very soluble in water and is stable on storage.From these findings prolinomethyltetracycline is thought to be suitable for injection use.
