Abstract
In this work, it is shown that steady state flow of a waxy crude that is Bingham plastic in nature can be analysed using a simple and elementary method. The temperature and pressure of the fluid along a pipeline are predicted. The discrepancies between predicted values and field data indicate that pressure drop calculation is dependent on the empirical equation used for friction factor prediction. A sensitivity analysis of two empirical equations has been carried out.
