Abstract
Vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE) data play an important role in the design of separation processes. In the determination of VLE data, an ebulliometric method is frequently useful for the multicomponent system. In this study, we determined the VLE relation of ternary system methanol + ethanol + dimethyl carbonate and its constituent binary systems by an ebulliometric method. Experimental boiling-point data for binary systems were correlated using the Wilson equation. Then, a prediction of ternary system was tasted using the Wilson equation with the parameters from the binary mixture. The experimental boiling-points were also correlated using the extended Redlich-Kister equation. For ternary system, the valley lines were estimated using these equations.
