Abstract

Two micro-algae, Stichococcus bacillaris (green algae) andOscillatoriasp. (blue-green algae), contaminate in the media of free-livingConchocelisofPorphyraspp. culture. The studies of herbicidal action were conducted on two chemicals for the elimination such micro-algae.
For the elmination of S.bacillaris, N-phosphonomethyl-glycine sodium in the concentration of 100 ppm in the medium was effective in herbicidal action, but it's 150 ppm hindered the growth of free-living conchocelis. There was a fine distinction between herbicidal concentration for eliminating of S.bacillarisand toxic concentration of free-living conchocelis for elmination of Oscillatoria sp. Penicillin G in the concentration of 500 mg/l in the medium was effective in herbicidal action.
