Effects of Temperature and Salinity on the Rhizoid Development of Sargassum yezoense

Abstract

Effects of temperature and salinity on the rhizoid development of Sargassum yezoense (Yamada) Yoshida et T. Konno were examined. Rhizoids were developed in the range of 10-25°C and 19.5-55.2S and grew well at 15°C and 26.1-39.2S. Under higher salinity condition their development was enhanced by temperature.
