Abstract

School archives are at risk of being scattered or lost when schools are closed or reorganized. School archives should be appreciated and be preserved as “historically important official documents”in the life cycle of documents and records. They should be not only preserved and managed but also utilized by residents. To achieve these goals, each local community must have a public records office. In other words, the public records office, which ensures the preservation and public availability of official documents, can act as a repository for school archives.
