Abstract
According to the enquete, literatures and reports in the symposium held at the 23rd Japanese Congress of Allergology, an intractable asthma was defined as severe perennial asthma which is resistant to the usual therapies and dependent on corticosteroid for keeping patient's daily lives. For diagnosis of an intractable asthma, a period of one to three years was thought to be necessary. The causes of an intractabe asthma were shown as mental factors, uncooperations of patients and inapropriate treatment at the beginning of the therapy. We would like to emphasize the necessity for collaboration in intractable asthma.
