Abstract
Process of children's growth is divided into five stages of 0-1 year old, 1-3 years old, 3-6 years old, 6-10 years old, and 10-15 years old. On examining specific symptons of bronchial asthma in all age groups, it has become clear that the addition of years has close relation to the onset of disease, percentage of positive skin test, the spontaneous recovery, etc. In children aged from 0 to 6 years, the younger they are, their percentage of positive skin tests are lower. Percentage of positive skin test is the highest in the group aged from 6 to 25 years and lowers thereafter. Ninety percent of children with bronchial asthma have the onset of disease during the ages from 0 to 6 years, where percentage of positive skin test is low. The onset of disease scarecely takes place after 6 years old where percentage of positive skin test is high. Therefore, from the viewpoint of the age, percentage of positive skin test is conversely relative to the onset of disease. This relation is quite similar to the movement of neutrophil and lymphocyte of white blood cells in peripheral blood. The center, which controls these phenomena influenced by the age, is supposedly the middle brain. Furthermore, conditions of the center which causes onset of the asthma have been studied.
