Abstract

In this research, the authors analyzed Landcover change for recent 19 years in the Amur river basin using the analysis technique of the satellite data (NOAA/AVHRR PAL dataset) which Kondoh (2004) proposed. Because it is necessary to evaluate objectively how agricultural activity affects natural environment in Amur river basin. Four parameters (∑NDVI NDVImax NDVIstd TRJ) are adopted that reflect surface conditions, and examined their linear trends from 1982 to 2000.As a result, the signal of Landcover change appeared in 5 areas. Especially, in Heilongjiang, the land cover change by agricultural activity was able to be caught from this analysis.
