The Potential of Agricultural Land Management by the User Organization of the Allotment Gardens in Peri-urban Area

A Case of Allotment Gardens for Kitchen Garbage Recycling, Kitamoto City

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to consider the potential of agricultural land management by the user organization of the allotment gardens in peri-urban area. This study examines the management system of the allotment gardens which has garden user organization. Allotment gardens for kitchen garbage recycling in the Kitamoto city was selected as the case study. The base on the results, this research considers the possibility that the garden user organization plays the role of management of agricultural land in peri-urban. The garden user organizations and its network contribute to solution of the problems about utilization of the agricultural land by urban residents.
