Abstract
Sugadaira is one of the famous areas for its agriculture and tourism. This area has been faced with a serious problems at the moment. Farmers in Sugadaira has been managing farm-inns to earn subsidiary their income from ski visitors in winter time since 1960s. However, the relationship between agriculture and tourism has changed after the farmers introduced the management of sports training camps in summer time 1970s. The farmers have converted the agricultural land into sports grounds for this purpose. Consequently the relationship between agriculture and tourism which was once coexistence turned into conflict.
