Abstract

An increasing number of people, especially those in their 20s, are watching fast movies and movies at double speed or skipping ahead every 10 seconds. This is because the number of films that explain everything with dialogue is increasing. When we analysed the practice of viewing movies at double speed or by skipping ahead every 10 seconds at our school, we found that the trend was almost identical to that of people in their 20s. Therefore, in this study, we hypothesised that if we showed a movie without dialogue and let participants experience the outline and meaning contained in the movie without relying on the dialogue, the way they watch movies would change like watching them more broadly and deeply. A class was conducted to validate this hypothesis. The results showed a change in awareness regarding watching movies at double speed or by skipping ahead every 10 seconds.
