The purpose of this study is to examine internships, which are an important position as the practicum. The aim of our college is to bridge the fields of arts and tourism. In the Professional College of Arts and Tourism, the internships have been held in the fields of arts and tourism. These internships are held at the theaters, the festivals etc. in the arts fields, and the transportation industry, the hotels, the travel industry in the tourism fields. Under these circumstances, we thought that it would be necessary to consider the significance and content of internships in the field of arts and tourism at our college. In this paper, we point out the definitions of internships and the practicum and to review previous research in Section Two. In Section Three, we analyzed the results of our interview surveys. We proposed five characteristics derived from the analysis results in Section Four. Consideration was made based on the results in Section Five. Finally, we concluded with a summary and suggestions for future research in the Summary. In the results, we found three characteristics. First is the variety of choices for the internships. Second is the lectures (in the first quarter and the third quarter) are not linked with the practicums (in the second quarter and the fourth quarter). Third is the lack of prior learning and post learning for the practicum.
