Abstract

This survey is based on newspaper articles published in Korea from 1920 to 1940. I have collected statistics of events held at local Public Halls in colonial Korea. The events were categorized and quantified to create graphs and I examined what kind of trends there were in terms of these regions. Little analysis has been done on the content of the public hall events. The analysis of events at Japanese Public Halls is limited to only Hibiya Public Hall, Kyoto Okazaki Public Hall, and Otaru Public Hall. The case of Keijo is only a statistic of the number of events, and there is no study the comprehensively analyzes their contents. This data will be compared with the upcoming survey of the other cities.
