The Yt Blood Group Antigens in Japanese: The Apparent Absence of Yt^b

Abstract

A total of 5, 000 blood samples from Japanese were tested for Yta blood group antigen without finding a single Yt(a-). Seventy of them were also tested for Yt^b with negative results, hinting at the absence or a very low frequency of the gene Yt^b in the Japanese population.
