A Revisional Study of the Japanese Salticid Spiders of the Genus Neon SIMON (Araneae: Salticidae)

Abstract

Japanese salticid spiders of the genus Neon SIMON, 1876, are revised. After an examination of many specimens from Japan, five species of the genus were recognized, that is, Neon reticulatus (BLACKWALL, 1853), N. kiyotoi sp. nov., N. nojimai sp. nov., N. minutus ZABKA, 1985, and N. ningyo sp. nov. All the species are described and illustrated.
