SPECIFIC ACTIVITY OF LIVER DEOXYRIBONUCLEIC ACID LABELLED WITH P³²

Abstract

The radioactive contamination of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in the normal liver of adult rats receiving P³² may be eliminated only by an extensive purification. It is suggested that the rate of DNA synthesis as estimated by the P³² incorporation does not exceed the mitotic rate in this organ. This is an additional evidence for the metabolic stability of DNA.
