Abstract
1. A new phosphorus compound was isolated from a human hemolysate with ad-ded inosine.
2. This compound was identified as ery-thronic acid 4-phosphate by elementary ana-lysis, chromatography, spectrophotometry and analysis of periodate oxidation products.
The author wishes to thank Prof. H. Yoshikawa for his kind guidance and encouragement and Prof. M, Nakao, Dr. M. Tatibana, Dr. T. Hashimoto and Dr. S. Minakami for their helpful discussion through the period of this work. The author wishes also to thank Dr. Y. Kagawa for kind donation of erythronic acid, Plasma Laboratory (Tokyo) for generous supply of ACD blood and Kowa Chemical-Co. (Nagoya) for kind supply of ATP. Addendum to the proof;
After the manuscript was prepared and subjected to the publ_??_cation, I found a communication of chemical synthesis of D-erythronic acid 4-phosphate by R. Barker and F. Wold in the J. Org. Chem. 28, 1847 (1963).
